New Coaches!

BRISTOW, VA - The Kingsbrooke Sea Lions is pleased to introduce Olympic Gold medalist Jeremy Linn as the team's 5th head coach.

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Coach Jeremy won the silver medal in the 100m breaststroke, establishing an American record. Along with Mark Henderson, Gary Hall Jr. and Jeff Rouse, Jeremy won the gold medal and set the world record in the 400m medley relay.

At the University of Tennessee, Coach Jeremy was a 4 time NCAA Champion (100m breaststroke 1996, 1997, 1998 and 200m breaststroke 1997) and a 17 time NCAA All-American. In the Southeastern Conference (SEC), Coach Jeremy was named Swimmer of the Year three times and won 11 SEC swimming titles (6 ind, 5 relay). The crowning accomplishment of Coach Jeremy's SEC dominance was helping the Volunteers claim the 1996 SEC team title.

Coach Jeremy is a coach by profession and it is what he absolutely loves to do. He is currently the Head Senior Coach for the Curl Burke West Swim Team.

Coach Jeremy said of summer swim, “My greatest memories of my life of swimming come from my summer league experiences! I am truly looking forward to committing myself to the community, and helping our youth have a great time learning how to be great team players and get the best out of themselves!”

It is with great pleasure to announce that Jim Gully, has accepted the position of Assistant Head Coach.

Jim swam in his early years through Junior High school, then in college took up swimming as a means of staying in shape and played on the NC State University Club Water Polo team. Jim’s interest in coaching started nine years ago when both of his daughters started swimming. For the first eight years Jim coached several age groups for Occoquan Swimming. This past year, Jim joined the Curl Burke West Swim Team as a 9-12 year old coach.

Jim believes in helping swimmers prepare for life's ups and downs and make them more successful individuals while at the same time helping them enjoy their swimming activities. Jim is an ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) certified coach. Several swimmers that Jim coached in their developmental years have gone on to become Junior National Level swimmers. The most important accomplishment is always trying to recognize the last, lost, and forgotten swimmers. The last, lost, and forgotten are the quiet swimmers or the ones in the back of the lane. Everyone deserves the coach's attention.
